Bayu is a diligent and intelligent twelve-year-old boy. He is an avid reader and likes recitation. Sadly, his father died one year ago, and now he lives in a crowded rented house with his mother, three sisters, two grandmothers, and grandfather, which is located on the edge of the river. During his life, his father worked as a casual laborer. Now, Bayu’s family depends on the grandparents who sell fried food every afternoon with an uncertain outcome. Bayu wants to continue school, but his family is in very poor economic conditions. Bayu’s mother hopes that he will find sponsors so that he can achieve his dreams one day.
